From 16 September to 17 October, the Ámbito Cultural Hall at El Corte Inglés Santiago de Compostela presents the exhibition “Shadows Collection. Dietro la maschera c’è il vuoto” by artist Alejandra Gorriti, a project that brings together two pictorial series focused on exploring emotions, identity and the contradictions of the human condition.

Through works created with acrylic, transfers and prints, the artist builds a visual universe of strong chromatic intensity where shadows, masks, symbols and texts interact to reveal what remains hidden behind appearances.

The series Shadows Collection reflects on universal questions such as life, death, destiny, fear and power. Its figures, constructed from textual fragments transferred onto vibrant backgrounds, become metaphors for human vulnerability and emotional complexity.

Meanwhile, Dietro la maschera c’è il vuoto (“Behind the mask lies the void”) delves into the multiple identities we project to the world. Inspired by the tradition of the commedia dell’arte, the series invites viewers to reflect on appearances and what remains invisible behind them.
