On the occasion of the International Day of Sign Languages, the Ámbito Cultural hall at El Corte Inglés Santiago de Compostela hosts a unique artistic proposal that invites audiences to discover a new way of experiencing music.

The group Música en mis manos, made up of deaf and hearing performers, presents the concert “El sonido del silencio, canciones que se ven”, an exciting experience in which songs come to life through Sign Language.

About “Música en mis manos”

Founded in Cacheiras (Teo) in 2015, this pioneering ensemble works to bring music closer to everyone, promoting inclusion, awareness and connection between the deaf and hearing communities. Throughout its trajectory, it has taken part in numerous performances alongside renowned organisations and artists, becoming a reference for its understanding of music as a language capable of connecting people beyond any barrier.

More than a concert, “El sonido del silencio, canciones que se ven” is an invitation to discover how music can also be perceived through sight. Songs familiar to several generations gain a new dimension when rhythm, words and emotion are expressed through hands, gestures and body movement. An experience where the audience not only listens to music, but can also see it.

The performance will be preceded by the screening of a video that traces the group’s history and some of its most notable moments. Afterwards, they will present a diverse and evocative repertoire that travels through different sensitivities and musical styles, demonstrating that musical emotion knows no borders or limits of perception.

An inclusive, accessible and deeply human cultural proposal that highlights the power of music to move, communicate and bring people together.
