The Ámbito Cultural Hall at El Corte Inglés Santiago de Compostela will host, next Friday 11 September at 19:00 hours, the semifinal of Zone 1 (Galicia and Asturias) of the VIII National Live Poetry Award #LdeLírica, one of the leading initiatives for oral poetry and contemporary creation in Spain.

The event will bring together in Santiago seven selected voices from Galicia and Asturias who will compete for a place in the national final. The person in charge of evaluating the performances will be the poet Samuel Merino, winner of the latest edition of the award and representative of the collective LÍMITES, who will act as the jury for this semifinal.

The participants in this phase are Vanesa Ferreira Rodríguez (@vanessaglemsel), Beatriz Dourado (@dourado_bt), Mar Fernández Calvo (@faltanversos), Iker Andrés Escudero (@ikerescuderoautor), Sara Fernández Botana (@sara_fbotana), Jonatan Jorge Guille (@jonatanjorgeg) and Ana González González (@oubeodaterra).

After the summer break, the award resumes its journey through different cities in Spain to discover new voices of live poetry. Santiago de Compostela thus becomes a meeting point for authors, audiences and lovers of the spoken word in a day where emotion, creativity and verse will take centre stage.
