El Corte Inglés Málaga hosts a new lecture from the Cátedra de Comercio y Transformación Digital, titled “Retail en acción: de la incertidumbre económica al comercio inteligente”, delivered by Yolanda Fernández Pereira, Chief Economist at La Distribución ANGED (Asociación Nacional de Grandes Empresas de la Distribución) and professor at the Escuela FEF (Fundación de Estudios Financieros). The session will take place on Thursday, May 28 at 18:00.

The retail industry is undergoing a dual transformation—technological and economic—so this session will address the challenges and opportunities that both disruptions bring for companies. Based on this premise, the lecture will analyse the current situation of commerce, affected at all levels of the chain by the digitalisation process.

Starting from the impact that the implementation of Artificial Intelligence represents for companies, the discussion will explore trends in retail distribution channels and household spending categories. Transversally, it will focus on the issues arising from the talent gap, caused by population ageing, talent migration and educational mismatches.

The event will be presented by Dr. Sebastián Molinillo Jiménez, Director of the Cátedra.
