On Friday, 31 July, from 19:30 hours, you can attend the lecture “The Nazca Lines” delivered by writer Rafael Alfonso Alfaro García.
There are various theories about the origin and purpose of the lines: that they are aligned with specific stars, that they form an astronomical calendar, that they were created so extraterrestrial spacecraft could orient themselves when viewing them from above, that they are part of a hydraulic system, or even that they emerged as a result of Nazca processions across the desert, leaving those lines behind.
The lecture aims to reach a solid explanation through the study of around forty constructions located in Cahuachi (Peru), which are closely related to these enigmatic figures.
The event will be presented by Mª José Jiménez Martínez‑Virel, professor of oil painting and drawing.
