On Monday, September 21 at 7 p.m., at Ámbito Cultural of El Corte Inglés Colón, 27 (6th Floor), the semifinal for the Valencian Community, Murcia, and Balearic Islands region of the 8th National Live Poetry Award #LdeLírica will take place, organized by Ámbito Cultural of El Corte Inglés and La Piscifactoría Laboratorio de Creación.

In this eighth edition, journalist, poet, cultural manager, and winner of the same award in 2020, Paloma Chen, has served as the regional judge and selected the seven semifinalists from all the poets who participated in the different phases.

The National Live Poetry Award #LdeLírica was created in 2019 as part of the #LdeLírica project (a series of poetry sessions held in various Ámbito Cultural venues of El Corte Inglés, launched in September 2018) with the aim of showcasing emerging talent and the outstanding quality of new lyrical proposals throughout Spain. The National Live Poetry Award #LdeLírica is a nationwide spoken‑poetry competition—something that did not exist in Spain when the award was created—giving voice to new talents and involving different groups across the country who help disseminate it and serve as judges.

The dynamics of the award include an initial phase of written poems, and only those selected move on to a second phase, uploading between one and three videos on Instagram and TikTok. On June 1, the poets selected from each region were notified, and the Semifinals began.

With the semifinal of Zone 4 at Ámbito Cultural of El Corte Inglés Valencia, the award will already have its seven finalists, who will compete in the national final in Madrid. As in the previous edition, the winner of this year’s competition will receive a prize of 1,881 euros, in homage to the birth year of Juan Ramón Jiménez, and will be invited to give a reading of their poetic work alongside one or several highly renowned poets at the Museo Nacional Thyssen‑Bornemisza on October 9, 2026.
