On Tuesday, 3 November, at 7:00 p.m., El Corte Inglés Colón will host the lecture 'Paolo de San Leocadio: El pintor de los Borja', delivered by Nuria Ramón Marqués, Senior Lecturer in Art History and Director of Documentation and Art History.
This lecture is part of the 'Maestros valencianos de las Bellas Artes y las Letras' series, organised by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos and Ámbito Cultural at El Corte Inglés. The series features leading specialists selected by Manuel Muñoz Ibáñez, President of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia. The lectures will be compiled in a book to be published by the Academy at the end of the series.
Paolo de San Leocadio arrived in Valencia in 1472 with Cardinal Rodrigo de Borja and was one of the artists who introduced the Italian Renaissance to the Iberian Peninsula. The lecture will explore his artistic career, focusing on his time in Gandía, where he worked exclusively for Duchess María Enríquez and produced works for the Collegiate Church, the Ducal Palace and the Monastery of Santa Clara, during the most prolific period of his career.
Venue: Ámbito Cultural, sixth floor, El Corte Inglés Colón, 27.
