The shop window in Callao is transformed into a traditional tavern to celebrate San Isidro at El Corte Inglés Preciados-Callao
- Date: At may 14
- Schedule: from 18:00 to 20:00
On 14 May, to mark the San Isidro festival, the shop windows of El Corte Inglés in Callao will be transformed into a very special stage to pay tribute to Madrid’s music scene. Right in the heart of the city, the department store will open its shop windows onto the street to become, for one afternoon, an authentic traditional tavern where live music will take centre stage.
From 6 pm, the public can enjoy a unique and free experience bringing together three leading figures from Madrid’s music scene, combining conversation, emerging talent and established bands. The event will kick off with a live recording of the podcast ‘Último Acorde Talks’, hosted by Dani Cabana, @danicabana__, who on this occasion will be joined by special guests Sexy Zebras for an intimate and relaxed chat with the audience.
Following the podcast, La Azotea – one of Madrid’s up-and-coming pop-rock bands – will take to the stage for a live showcase, continuing to fill the Callao showcase with music. As a grand finale, the event will close with a showcase by Miss Caffeina, one of the most representative bands on the national indie-pop scene, bringing to a close an afternoon designed to celebrate Madrid’s culture, music and traditions.
This event forms part of El Corte Inglés’ special programme for San Isidro and aims to bring live music to the streets, creating a meeting point between artists and the public in a setting as iconic as the Callao shop windows.
DANI CABANA is a music journalist and content creator who has been involved in the national music scene for many years. He hosts the podcast ‘Último Acorde Talks x El Corte Inglés Cultura’, an intimate conversation series where artists and creators share their career journeys, influences and the more personal side of music.
SEXY ZEBRAS. One of the most powerful rock bands on the national scene, with a career marked by their overwhelming energy and their connection with live performance. On this occasion, they are appearing as special guests for San Isidro on the podcast.
LA AZOTEA. An up-and-coming pop-rock band from Madrid that stands out for its fresh sound and generational lyrics. They are positioned as one of the most promising acts on the new Madrid music scene.
MISS CAFFEINA. A leading name in the Spanish indie and pop scene, with a solid career and several hits that form part of Madrid’s musical heritage. Their live performance will bring the celebration to a close.
