“This is How Songs Are Born” with Guille Galván

Composer of the soundtrack for an entire generation, after more than 25 years with Vetusta Morla, Guille Galván embarks on a new solo adventure.

The Madrid-born composer has already revealed the title of his debut album: “Nadie con ese nombre vive aquí” (Nobody with that name lives here), which will be released on May 8th. Just a few days later, Guille will join our music series “Así Nacen las Canciones” (This is How Songs Are Born) to talk with Fernando Neira, music critic for El País and Cadena Ser.

An opportunity to discuss creative processes, career paths, and new stages, and to discover what lies behind the songs.

  • - Tuesday, May 12th at 7:30 PM
  • - In-person attendance until capacity is reached
  • - Streaming available. Follow him on AC's YouTube channel
  • About Guille Galván

For over two decades, Guille Galván has established himself as one of the most recognizable voices in Spanish indie music thanks to his work as lyricist and guitarist in Vetusta Morla, a key band in understanding the evolution of alternative rock in Spain. His writing, marked by emotional metaphor and poetic precision, has graced essential albums such as Un día en el mundo, Mapas, La deriva, Mismo sitio, distinto lugar, and Cable a tierra. Simultaneously, he has developed a literary side with poetry collections that expand his creative universe. He is the author of the poetry collections Retrovisores (Bandaàparte, 2015) and Desconocernos (Lunwerg, 2020). With these works, he has woven his own unique and unmistakable imagery around words, creating poetic spaces ready to be inhabited.

His leap into a solo format is a natural step: a space to explore new textures, more intimate stories, and a unique voice that, far from straying from his established style, expands upon it with honesty and daring. His debut promises to solidify his position not only as a composer but also as a leading emotional storyteller.

Mark your calendars for this event!
