Take part in the voting for the 19th European Novel Prize Casino de Santiago and become part of the jury that will choose the winning novel of one of the most participatory literary awards in Europe.

This award, which promotes reading, a European spirit and civic participation, invites readers to vote for one of the five finalist novels selected by a committee of experts from authors across the European Union.

The finalist novels for the 19th European Novel Prize – Casino de Santiago are:

• - A noite das cebolas, by Rosa Aneiros (Xerais).
• - Una familia moderna, by Helga Flatland (Nórdica Libros).
• - Desertar, by Mathias Énard (Random House).
• - La península de las casas vacías, by David Uclés (Siruela).
• - El cantar del profeta, by Paul Lynch (Alfaguara).

In the previous months, the Ámbito Cultural Hall at El Corte Inglés Santiago de Compostela hosted the literary debates on the finalist works. Now, in the final phase, the decision is shared between a professional jury and the popular vote, which represents 50% of the final result.

Citizens will be able to vote in different cities across Galicia, Asturias, León and other national and international locations, through public libraries, sociocultural centres and at El Corte Inglés bookstores in León, Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés, A Coruña, Vigo and Santiago de Compostela.
