Commemoration of the Galician Literature Day 2026 at El Corte Inglés Vigo
- Date: At may 13
- Schedule: from 10:30 to 11:30
El Corte Inglés Vigo, on the occasion of the celebration of Galician Literature Day 2026 dedicated to Begoña Caamaño, is organising an activity aimed at school audiences, focused on the figure and work of the honoured author.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at 10:30 hours, in the bookstore of El Corte Inglés Vigo, and will feature the participation of students from a local school.
The activity will be led by writer Ramón Nicolás, author of the book “A nena que perdeu un zapato na lama. Begoña Caamaño no Calvario vigués (1964–1976)”, with illustrations by Carlos Gallego.
Starting from Begoña Caamaño’s childhood in the Vigo neighbourhood of O Calvario, the author will offer a talk introducing the audience to her life story and literary career.
This is a unique work that blends memory, biography, history and fiction, built through the voice of Morgana, and which allows the reconstruction and recognition of the author’s early years. A narrative that connects childhood, place and personal development, helping readers understand some of the key elements of the writer honoured in the Galician Literature Day 2026.
