El Corte Inglés joins International Childhood Cancer Day with the charity sale of the book “Superheroes Without Superpowers”, available from February 13 to March 31 in bookstores in Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, and A Coruña. All proceeds will be donated to ASANOG (Association for the Support of Children with Cancer in Galicia).
This book, written by Borja Balbuena and published by Editorial Pulseras Amarillas, tells his story in the first person after being diagnosed at age 16 with advanced stage IV Burkitt non-Hodgkin lymphoma. His account covers the entire process from diagnosis to complete remission, from the courageous and honest perspective of a teenager.
Editorial Pulseras Amarillas was founded by a group of former childhood and adolescent cancer patients, under the auspices of ASANOG, with the mission of raising awareness of childhood cancer, supporting new families, and actively collaborating on charitable projects. The group's name is inspired by the TV series "Red Bracelets," and the color yellow symbolizes happiness and optimism.
