"FROM MENGA TO THE MÁLAGA PLANETARIUM, 6,000 YEARS OF STARGAKING" by Dr. Alberto J. Castro-Tirado (Research Professor at the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (CSIC) and Scientific Director of the Málaga Planetarium).

A chronological tour of Malaga and its province is detailed, starting with the first hunter-gatherers who settled in the Vega de Antequera and built Menga, 6000 years ago, and who were already contemplating the abundant clear nights of our region to marvel at the immensity of the starry sky. A scenario that would also move Ibn Firnás and Ibn Garibol, among many others, and thus reach the 20th century with the founding of the Malaga Astronomy Society - the oldest in Andalusia - in 1975, and leading to the Malaga Planetarium (Málaga Planetarium), which will be the largest in the European Union by the time of the total solar eclipse on August 2, 2027.
The event will be presented by Dr. Alberto Castellón Serrano, president of the Association.
