The Cultural Center at El Corte Inglés in Málaga will host a new session of the film forum "Social Justice is on Film" on Wednesday, April 8th at 6:00 PM. This session will focus on the theme "From the Border to Shelter: Myths and Realities about Unaccompanied Migrant Children". The event is organized by the Chair of Social Inclusion at the University of Málaga and the Municipal Observatory for Social Inclusion of the Málaga City Council.

The film Adú (2020), directed by Salvador Calvo and starring Luis Tosar, Anna Castillo, Álvaro Cervantes, Miquel Fernández, Zayiddiya Dissou, Moustapha Oumarou, and Adam Nourou, will be screened. The film interweaves three stories that converge around migration: a six-year-old boy and his sister attempt to stow away on a plane in Cameroon; an environmental activist confronts poaching and conflicts with his daughter; and a group of Civil Guard officers in Melilla prepare to storm the border fence. None of the protagonists know that their destinies are bound to intersect.

Adú received four Goya Awards (Best Director, Best New Actor, Best Sound, and Best Production Design) and was nominated for the Forqué Awards for Best Film and Best Film in Education and Values.

Following the screening, José David Gutiérrez Sánchez, Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Services at the University of Málaga and an expert on unaccompanied migrant children, and Inmaculada Ponce Ponce, social educator and director of the ANIDE XIII Center for Guidance and Employment and Social Integration (COILS), will speak. The event will be introduced by Javier Salas Rodríguez, Professor in the Department of Social Psychology at the University of Málaga.
