Film Forum ‘Social Justice on Screen’

El Corte Inglés Málaga hosts a new session of the film forum “Social Justice on Screen”, organised by the Social Inclusion Chair of the University of Málaga and the Municipal Observatory for Social Inclusion of the Málaga City Council. The event will take place on Wednesday, 10 June at 6:00 p.m., focusing on eating disorders and their psychological and social impact.

The film “To the Bone” (2017) will be screened, directed by Marti Noxon and starring Lily Collins, Keanu Reeves, Rebekah Kennedy, Dana L. Wilson, Carrie Preston and Brooke Smith. The story follows a young woman with anorexia who begins an unconventional treatment in a residential centre, where she forms bonds with other patients facing similar struggles.

Presented by: Natalia del Pino Brunet, Professor in the Area of Social Work and Social Services at the University of Málaga.

Discussion led by: Aylin Alba Mandak Arjona, FPU researcher in risk behaviours and suicide (UMA). Natalia Martín Palacios, lecturer at the University of Jaén and PhD candidate researching psychosocial factors in eating disorders. Zoe de Masi Marchand, Clinical Psychologist at Ita Torre del Mar, a centre specialising in the treatment of eating disorders.
