About the Film
María (Ana Fernández) ekes out a living in a dark apartment in a slum, occasionally works as a cleaning lady, and, at almost forty, discovers she is pregnant by a man who doesn't love her. Her loneliness is so great that she only finds solace in drinking.
Her mother (María Galiana), who has wasted her life with a violent and intolerant man, doesn't even have the consolation of having her near.
When her husband is admitted to the hospital, the mother visits María in her apartment and meets a widowed man (Carlos Álvarez) who lives with his dog. The relationship that develops between these three castaways eases their loneliness and opens the door to hope.
