Opening of the exhibition 'UNDERSTANDING THE BRAIN: HOW NEUROPSYCHOLOGY WORKS', on January 23 at 6:30 p.m.

Art exhibition curator: Juan Pablo Mercado Espárraga, international artist and drawing teacher (IES Margarita Salas).

This exhibition will be open from January 23rd to March 27th. The exhibition hours are from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday to Friday, at the Ámbito Cultural art gallery of El Corte Inglés in Málaga (Home Building - Ground Floor - Leisure and Culture Department).

This exhibition reflects the work carried out during 2025 by Fine Arts and Psychology students from the University of Málaga, enrolled in the third edition of the Neuropsychoarts project (a “Key Project” program of the Vice-Rectorate for Transfer, Entrepreneurship, and Business). On this occasion, we have had the pleasure of collaborating with the prestigious Encounters with Science series, directed by Professors Enrique Viguera and Ana Grande, to present an exhibition that combines scientific dissemination and artistic expression around neuropsychology. Psychology students have created a series of informational panels about neuropsychology and its main areas of application.

Includes the exhibition 'OF DENDRITES AND SKILLS: AN ARTISTIC LOOK AT NEUROPSYCHOLOGY'.

Meanwhile, Fine Arts students, in collaboration with Psychology students and neuropsychology professionals from the province of Málaga, have created ten original works that comprise “Of Dendrites and Skills: An Artistic Look at Neuropsychology.” These creations are inspired by the brain, by the neuropsychological alterations that appear when it is damaged or changed, and by the experiences of the people who live with them.

With this exhibition, we hope to bring the important - but still little known - work of neuropsychology closer to the public, and show how this science and profession can contribute to improving people's health and daily lives.
