Under the title Valencian Masters of the Fine Arts and Letters, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos and Ámbito Cultural of El Corte Inglés are launching a new lecture series.

The series features contributions from leading specialists selected by its coordinator, Professor Manuel Muñoz Ibáñez, President of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia.

All these presentations will be compiled in a book to be published by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos at the end of the series.

“Gonçal Peris Sarrià: The Consolidation of Valencian Gothic Painting”

Gonçal Peris Sarrià was the Valencian painter with the greatest impact during the first half of the 15th century and a key figure in the history of medieval art. He successfully assimilated the main European artistic currents circulating in Valencia around 1400 and transformed them into a personal language of remarkable projection. His work represents the maturity of the Valencian International Gothic style.
