About Emilio del Río

Emilio del Río Sanz was born in Logroño. He holds a PhD in Classical Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid (his doctoral thesis earned him the National Prize for Classical Studies in 1994) and is a professor at the Complutense University.

Author of numerous research publications—especially on classical communication and oratory—and supervisor of doctoral theses, he has undertaken research stays at universities abroad.

In 2019, the Spanish government awarded him the Cross of Alfonso X the Wise "for his merits in the fields of education, science, culture, teaching, and research." His wife remarked that it was about time they recognized it as a cross.

Since 2012, he has hosted the highly successful Latin and classical culture segment "Verba Volant," initially on the program "No es un día cualquiera" and currently on "Las mañanas de Radio Nacional," both directed and presented by Pepa Fernández. He is the creator of the podcast "Locos por los clásicos," one of the most popular on RNE (Spanish National Radio).

For his work in disseminating and promoting classical culture, he received the National Awards of the Spanish Society for Latin Studies in 2011 and of the Spanish Society for Classical Studies in 2015.

He is the author of *Latin Lovers* (2019), *Calamares a la romana* (2020), *Locos por los clásicos* (2022), and *Pequeña historia de la mitología clásica* (2023), books that have been extraordinarily well-received and with which he has traveled to more than one hundred cities (and towns) in Spain on a new educational mission in support of classical humanities.

About Marián “Boticaria” García

Marián García (@boticariagarcia) holds a doctorate in Pharmacy and degrees in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and in Optics and Optometry. She began practicing in a rural pharmacy in Cuenca, from where, thanks to the internet and social media, she made the leap to television studios. Tired of hearing her clients repeat the refrain, "I read on the internet that…," she realized that the only way to fight Dr. Google was to join it, so she started a blog to explain nutrition and health topics. After twelve years dedicated to sharing her knowledge, more than half a million people now follow her advice daily through social media. She combines this work with various collaborations in radio, print, and television (Antena 3, La Sexta, El Mundo…), which has earned her, among other accolades, the NAOS Strategy Award (Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity Prevention), granted by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition.
