In the next session of #LdeLírica, we welcome Victoria Cirlot, poet, essayist, a leading expert on medieval mysticism and Arthurian legend, and professor of Romance Philology. Author of recent books such as *La visión abierta* (The Open Vision) and *La experiencia visionaria en la Edad Media* (The Visionary Experience in the Middle Ages), Cirlot has revitalized our understanding of the inner image, symbolism, and the relationship between word and revelation. She has just published *Marginalia*, a collection of diverse texts ranging from the scholarly to the personal.

The daughter of the renowned poet, art critic, and author of the *Diccionario de Símbolos* (Dictionary of Symbols), Juan Eduardo Cirlot, will converse with Gonzalo Escarpa in an encounter that promises depth, beauty, and thought.

About Victoria Cirlot

Victoria Cirlot Valenzuela (Barcelona, ​​1955) is a Spanish scholar of medieval culture and literature, philologist, translator, and editor. She is currently Professor of Romance Philology in the Faculty of Humanities at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, ​​and Director of the University Institute of Culture at the same university.

She has dedicated herself to the study of the Middle Ages: chivalric culture and mysticism. She has translated several Arthurian romances from the 12th and 13th centuries from Old French, such as Perlesvaus and The High Book of the Grail, as well as troubadour lyric poetry. Among her books on Arthurian romances, Figures of Destiny: Myths and Symbols of Medieval Europe stands out. In the field of medieval mysticism, she has focused on Hildegard von Bingen in Life and Visions of Hildegard von Bingen, as well as on other mystical writers in The Inner Gaze. Mystical and visionary women writers of the Middle Ages. She has worked on the visionary phenomenon in comparative studies of the Middle Ages and the 20th century: Hildegard von Bingen and the Western visionary tradition, and in *The Open Vision: The Myth of the Grail and Surrealism*.

She is the director of the El Árbol del Paraíso (The Tree of Paradise) collection at the Siruela publishing house. She has also edited the works of her father, the poet and author of the *Diccionario de símbolos* (Dictionary of Symbols), Juan Eduardo Cirlot. She coordinates the Research Group at the Bibliotheca Mystica et Philosophica Alois M. Haas.

Her main lines of research are medieval literature, literary theory, and comparative literature.
