Actress and writer Elvira Mínguez, winner of the 2026 Primavera Novel Prize, presents her novel "La educación del monstruo" (Espasa).

The award-winning work tells a story about Spanish migration to Germany. According to the jury, "it is a magnificent novel that, starting from a period rarely explored in literature—Spanish emigration to Germany—immerses us in a world of silences and suspicions spanning two generations."

Elvira Mínguez will be in conversation with journalist Carles Francino, presenter of "La Ventana" on Cadena SER radio. Actors María Morales and Carmelo Gómez will also be present and will read excerpts from the novel.

About Elvira Mínguez

Actress and writer Elvira Mínguez (Valladolid, 1965) is one of the most acclaimed film actresses in the current audiovisual landscape. In 1994, her role in ‘Días Contados’ earned her the first of her five Goya Award nominations, the most recent this year for her performance in La Cena. Among her many other accolades, she received this award in 2005 for Tapas. She has worked under the direction of John Malkovich, Steven Soderbergh, and Asghar Farhadi, among others.

A woman of great culture and intellectual curiosity, in 2023 she published La sombra de la tierra (The Shadow of the Earth), her first novel, which was a finalist for the Castilla y León Critics' Prize. She later wrote and directed the film adaptation of this work. In 2026, she received the Primavera Novel Prize for her novel La educación del monstruo (The Education of the Monster).
