The Vigo San Silvestre race, organized by the Galician Athletics Federation, celebrates its 20th anniversary, having become a key part of the city's Christmas festivities.

The race is non-competitive and for charity, and is the largest of its kind in Galicia. The starting gun will fire at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 31st, at Porta do Sol, and the course is just over 4 kilometers long.

Besides being a sporting event, the Vigo San Silvestre is primarily a fun day out, where costumes, wigs, and accessories take center stage.

Nine prizes will be awarded across three categories: best children's costume, best adult costume, and best group costume.

This year, race bibs can be picked up at El Corte Inglés department store. Registration will be available:

• Monday, December 29, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Tuesday, December 30, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
• or on the day of the race between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
