On Tuesday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m., in commemoration of Galician Literature Day, Anxo Angueira, president of the Rosalía de Castro Foundation, will give the lecture "Music, Rosalía and Her Work."

His talk will focus on the musical training of Rosalía de Castro. She played several instruments, which influenced her work and, in turn, made her the most popular composer in Galicia.

Anxo Angueira Viturro (Manselle, 1961) is president of the Rosalía de Castro Foundation since 2012, academic at the RAG (Royal Galician Academy), professor at the University of Vigo, writer and one of the main specialists in Rosalía's work.

In the field of literary creation he published an extensive poetic and narrative work:Val de Ramirás (1989), O valo de Manselle (Xerais, 1996), Bágoas de facer illas (Xerais, 1997), Libro  da Vertixe (1997), Pensa nao (Premio Xerais de Novela 1999), Terra de Iria. Viaxe ó país de Rosalía de Castro (2002), A morte de A. (Xerais, 2003), Fóra do sagrado (Xerais, 2007), Iria (2012) and Palmeiras, piueiros (2022).

As an essayist, in addition to her studies on Méndez Ferrín (A espiral no espello. Bretaña, Esmeraldina e o sistema literario galego), she has focused her research on the period of the Resurgence: Das copras de Sarmiento aos cantares de Rosalía de Castro. Cara a unha nova periodización do Rexurdimento (2013) o Rexurdimento: a palabra e a idea (2019).

About Rosalía, in addition to various articles and anthologies, she has published critical editions of Cantares gallegos (2013), Follas novas (2016), En las orillas de Sar (2019) y La flor, A mi madre, poesía dispersa y traducciones (2023).
