Take part in the voting for the XIX European Novel Prize Casino de Santiago and become part of the jury that will decide the winning novel of one of the most participatory European literary awards.

This prize, which promotes reading, a European spirit, and citizen engagement, invites readers to vote for one of the five finalist novels selected by a commission of experts from among authors of European Union countries.

The finalist novels for the XIX European Novel Prize Casino de Santiago are:

• A noite das cebolas, de Rosa Aneiros (Xerais).
• Una familia moderna, de Helga Flatland (Nórdica Libros).
• Desertar, de Mathias Énard (Random House).
• La península de las casas vacías, de David Uclés (Siruela).
• El cantar del profeta, de Paul Lynch (Alfaguara).

In the months leading up to the vote, the Ámbito Cultural Hall of El Corte Inglés in Santiago de Compostela hosted literary discussions on the finalist works. Now, in the final phase, the decision is shared between a professional jury and the public vote, which represents 50% of the final result.

Citizens will be able to vote in different cities across Galicia, Asturias, León, and other national and international locations, through public libraries, sociocultural centers, and El Corte Inglés bookstores in León, Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés, A Coruña, Vigo, and Santiago de Compostela.
