El Corte Inglés and the A Coruña City Council join forces to raise awareness about reducing plastic use on San Xoán night.
Every year, on the night of San Juan, the beaches of Riazor, Orzán and Matadero welcome nearly 100,000 people who gather around bonfires, barbecues and sardiñadas. As a result, tons of waste are collected the following morning, most of it left on the sand.
The City Council, through the Department of Environment, is once again promoting the campaign “San Xoán é a praia. Coidáa”, aimed at reducing the use of plastic bags on the beaches during this magical night.
El Corte Inglés is joining this awareness campaign and, on June 22 and 23, the supermarket at El Corte Inglés A Coruña will replace its usual bags with cardboard bags featuring the campaign image*, helping raise awareness about the problem of plastics in the sea. Don’t miss yours!
